BRIEFLY ABOUT THE RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

A study on the assessment of the well-being of Kazakhstanis has been conducted monthly since 2015. Each wave consists of 3,000 households in all regions of the country. The main measurement tool is the WELL-BEING INDEX, a comprehensive indicator reflecting the assessment of the life quality of Kazakhstanis, as well as the perception of the socio-economic and political situation in the country. 


The value of the Well-being Index varies from 0 to 200 points, where 0 is the worst value,
100 is neutral, 200 is the most positive index value.

Well-being index

It consists of 33 questions, which are combined into 3 sub-indices: Index of Social Processes, Index of Political Processes and Index of Economic Processes.

It consists of 11 questions, which are combined into 5 sub-indices, that include assessment of emotional well-being, life satisfaction, perception on quality of education, healthcare and environment.

It consists of 9 questions, which are combined into 4 sub-indices, that include assessment of material well-being retirement expectations, social equality and country’s economic development satisfaction.
